WWE presents SummerSlam for the 36th time on Saturday, August 5th. The show will be live from Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan, and will be broadcast on Peacock in the United States and the WWE Network worldwide.
8 matches have been announced for the event, with 4 of those seeing championships be defended.
The main event of the show looks set to be Tribal Combat, which will see Roman Reigns defend the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship and his title of Tribal Chief against Jey Uso. The match will be anything goes, with Jey hoping to end the record-setting reign of The Head of the Table.
Cody Rhodes defeated Brock Lesnar at Backlash and Lesnar won the rematch at Night of Champions. The rivalry will end at SummerSlam, with the rubber match taking place between the two former WrestleMania main eventers.
7 years on from their first championship encounter, Finn Balor wants to repeat the result of 2016, as he faces Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship. The Judgment Day leader looks to dethrone The Visionary, and unlike the last time, hopefully hold on to the title for longer than 24 hours.
Asuka has both Charlotte Flair and Bianca Belair looking to take the Women’s Championship from her, which was won at Night of Champions. Regardless of whether or not the challengers are ready for Asuka, is The Empress ready for The Queen and The EST.
