WWE SummerSlam 2023 Predictions

WWE SummerSlam 2023 Predictions

WWE presents SummerSlam for the 36th time on Saturday, August 5th. The Premium Live Event will be broadcast live from Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan.

SummerSlam Battle Royale – Participants TBA

With LA Knight still yet to receive the push the WWE Universe are demanding, this could be WWE thinking they are giving Knight a big victory, despite the winner not guaranteed a title shot of any kind. Sheamus and Knight appear to be favourites, with the rest of the participants likely in to get them on the card.

Winner – LA Knight

Ronda Rousey vs. Shayna Baszler – MMA Rules Match

Multiple reports claim that Rousey will be making an exit from WWE shortly. With no credible challengers for Rhea Ripley’s Women’s Championship, a victory by Baszler over former champion Rousey would set up The Submission Magician for a match against The Eradicator at a later date.

Winner – Shayna Baszler

Logan Paul vs. Ricochet

Any high spots and viral moments will be saved for this match, as both Superstars are looking to be the most talked match from the event. With Paul not winning a match since SummerSlam 2022, this is likely the time when the social media star will be victorious, using underhanded tactics to get the victory.

Winner – Logan Paul

Gunther (c) vs. Drew McIntyre – Singles match for the Intercontinental Championship

WWE have booked themselves into a corner with this match. One on hand, Gunther should not lose the IC Title at this stage, as The Ring General is so close to breaking the all time record for a single reign. However, with McIntyre recently returning, The Scottish Warrior should not be losing the return match either. This match will likely end in either a count-out or disqualification, but Gunther will walk out of Detroit still the champion.

Winner – Draw

Asuka (c) vs. Bianca Belair vs. Charlotte Flair – Triple Threat match for the WWE Women’s Championship

This is one of the more difficult matches to predict on the card. While Asuka is still early into her reign as champion, history shows it is not wise to bet against Charlotte Flair in championship matches. With Flair and Belair each trying to one-up the other in recent weeks, Asuka will likely take advantage of the challengers arguing to retain the title.

Winner – Asuka

Seth Rollins (c) vs. Finn Balor – Singles match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship

In a rematch from 2016, Balor looks to get the fairy tale ending he dreamed of 7 years ago, and he will get it, sort of. With no huge victories in 2023, Balor will likely dethrone Rollins to become the new champion. But with The Judgment Day not teasing any descension on recent WWE programming, this feels like the point where Damian Priest will pull the trigger and successfully cash-in the Money in the Bank contract.

Winner – Finn Balor [To be beaten via Damian Priest Cash-in]

Cody Rhodes vs. Brock Lesnar

Ever since the third match has been announced, Brock Lesnar has stood tall at every confrontation between himself and Rhodes. The American Nightmare needs to slay The Beast to prove himself and to prove the WWE Universe that he deserves another World Championship opportunity. Also, Lesnar can afford to take the loss more than Rhodes can, as Lesnar will always be a credible threat.

Winner – Cody Rhodes

Roman Reigns (c) vs. Jey Uso – Tribal Combat. The winner will be the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion and recognised as The Tribal Chief

Drew McIntyre in Cardiff, Sami Zayn in Montreal and Cody Rhodes in Hollywood. All 3 were times where victory looked extremely likely, but underhanded tactics allowed Reigns to walk away with the championship. The no disqualification stipualtion will allow Solo Sikoa to get involved without repercussions, and will likely be the deciding factor. While people want to believe that Jey Uso will walk out with the title, this will be another case of Reigns wins but The Bloodline story advances.

Winner: Roman Reigns
