Seth Rollins has stated that he had “a few weeks” to prepare for his WWE return.
The June 17th episode of Raw saw Seth Rollins make his surprise return to action after being sidelined with a knee injury since WrestleMania 40. With no reports stating that Rollins would be back on the show, his appearance came as a genuine shock to those in attendance and watching at home. With Rollins set to return to action at Money in the Bank as he challenges Damian Priest for the World Heavyweight Championship, The Visionary has given an insight into when he found out about plans concerning his return to WWE.
Speaking with Matt Aguilar of ComicBook Nation, Rollins admitted that given the events that took place at Clash at the Castle the timing worked out perfectly:
“A little fluctuation, yeah, I had a few weeks notice,” he said. “We kind of looked at the timeline of the injury, and the story and where I fell back into place, you never know how things are going to go. But the top of the card here on Raw is pretty stacked, you got guys like Damian Priest, you got Drew McIntyre, CM Punk whenever he’s around and able, you got Gunther kind of waiting in the wings as well…so it’s stacked, it was very interesting to see where I could slide in.”
“The time felt right coming off a huge event overseas, Clash at the Castle in Scotland, it was ripe for the pickin’, man. Damian Priest needed a challenger, so I hopped right in,”
Seth Rollins & Damian Priest Raise The Stakes
On the June 24th episode of Raw, both men added their own terms to the World Heavyweight Championship match with more than just the title on the line. If Rollins is victorious, Priest will be forced to leave The Judgment Day. If Priest wins, Rollins will be unable to challenge for the title as long as Priest is the champion.
