Nick Khan Teases Even More WWE Content On Netflix

WWE President Nick Khan has provided an update on the Netflix partnership and more shows coming to the platform.

WWE President Nick Khan has provided an update on the Netflix partnership, stating that fans should expect to see more pro wrestling related content to drop on the platform in the coming months.

Closing in on 2 months since the Raw on Netflix debut and with the second Premium Live Event Elimination Chamber set to air on March 1st, the ongoing partnership between the pro wrestling titan and the streaming juggernaut has been well received by fans with minimal technical difficulties and an easy to use interface.

As was seen in the Netflix Era, WWE also produced a number of original series including long-form interviews, documentaries and look backs at some of the biggest moments in pro wrestling history. While the current library is limited to in-ring action, fans should expect to see more original content in the near future.

Speaking on the investors call, Khan was asked about the ongoing relationship between WWE and Netflix, to which Khan stated that the streaming service is looking for more content while also referencing the behind the scenes series that has been greenlit and is said to be similar to the success Formula 1 series Drive To Survive:

“All we’ve seen from Netflix is an appetite for more WWE. They’ve been phenomenal to deal with. They’ve promoted us in a way we hoped we would be promoted, even more so than we had hoped. The appetite by Netflix to have additional ancillary programming, we announced a few weeks ago, we’re doing a WWE behind the scenes show with Netflix, which will come out later this year. Assume there is more cooking in the pipeline,”

Nick Khan Previously Discussed Further Netflix Content

In a January 2024 interview, Nick Khan spoke about the possibility of having ancillary programming added to Netflix to raise the profile of WWE, citing the commercial success from the Formula One Drive To Survive series, which has seen a surge in popularity for the sport:

“It would be a mistake by us at WWE to not do that with Netflix. Assume that what you said is exactly what we’re all thinking, we being Netflix and WWE, you saw what Drive To Survive did for Formula One, we think the WWE audience, already big on a global level, only gets bigger with a show like that,” he said.

“Keep in mind, at WWE, we have a whole treasure trove of intellectual property that is largely untouched. If you look at what Disney has done, certainly that was through acquisitions with Marvel and Lucas Film; if you look at what Warner Brothers Discovery did when they acquired DC a long time ago, you now have this treasure trove at Netflix that is available to produce. So things like the Undertaker, characters that have been created over time, we’re looking forward to getting all of that with Netflix as well.”
