An official announcement from WWE regarding the status of WrestleMania 42 is expected to take place imminently.
Fans were left in shock on May 22nd when news broke that New Orleans would not be the host of the 2026 event despite being officially announced by The Rock earlier in the year. While there was speculation that the update was due to London or Saudi Arabia potentially being the host city, news later broke that WrestleMania 42 would take place in Las Vegas for the second consecutive year.
Although Triple H made the announcement that New Orleans would get Money in the Bank next year, nothing has been said about Mania. In an update by Bryan Alvarez on Wrestling Observer Live, the Vegas deal is said to be very close. Alvarez also added that the city is making a lot of concessions to help secure the event:
“Vegas very close to being a done deal for WrestleMania next year. There were a few hurdles to be cleared and several were this morning. Vegas is making a lot of concessions to clear the way for them.”
It is also expected that Allegiant Stadium will once again be the host venue in Vegas.
WrestleMania 42 Set To Be One Of Many To Take Place In Las Vegas
Although WrestleMania taking place in the same city 2 years in a row is unusual, the city of Las Vegas is reportedly looking to secure a big and unique agreement with WWE regarding future events. According to a previous report, Las Vegas is hoping to host WrestleMania frequently so that every year the city has a major sporting event take place to boost tourism.
