WWE Raw star Naomi has spoken more about her pregnancy following the announcement that she is expecting her first child with husband Jimmy Uso.
The Women’s World Champion let the fans know that she is pregnant on the August 18 edition of Raw, much to the delight of the fans. The news was broken when a clip aired of the couple appearing on Stephanie McMahon’s What’s Your Story podcast, where Naomi also stated that she found out about the news in a hotel room on August 10, just 24 hours before she was pulled from her Raw match against IYO SKY.
Also during the interview, the Raw star revealed that prior to her main roster debut she had an oophorectomy, which resulted in her right ovary being removed. Additionally, in 2020, Naomi underwent a procedure to remove fibroids from her uterus.
“I had tons, and big ones,” she said.
“I remember the surgery. It was supposed to be a couple of hours, she was in there for six hours,” Uso recalled.
“It was more intense and severe than they thought it was initially, and just the healing and also a lot of scar tissue so that also affected…the ability, on top of being older, I’m 37 now, and on top of only having one ovary, we thought for sure that naturally, I couldn’t anymore,” she shared.
Ending the recollection on a positive note, Naomi stated that everything is looking good at the moment:
“I’m going to have checkups more often, but everything’s looking good. We’re off to a good start,” she said.
WWE Star Naomi No Longer Champion Following Pregnancy Announcement
Following the news of the pregnancy, Raw General Manager Adam Pearce appeared to take the Women’s Championship from Naomi to signal that her time on top had come to an end. However, Naomi was reluctant to vacate the title, responding to Pearce “I ain’t giving you sh*t.” Closing out the segment, Naomi placed the title in the middle of the ring and promised that she would return and reclaim her gold.
