John Cena’s final opponent was determined and more on the December 5 WWE SmackDown.
On the December 1 Raw, LA Knight and Gunther advanced to the final of The Last Time Is Now Tournament, which will see the winner face Cena in his final match. Gunther and Knight faced each other on the show to see who would be the one to face Cena one last time.
Additionally, Cody Rhodes addressed the events that took place at Survivor Series the previous week, Women’s Champion Jade Cargill was in action, and Ilja Dragunov put his US Title on the line in an open challenge.
Michael Cole and Corey Graves were on commentary for the show.
WWE SmackDown Results December 5:
- Following a recap of Survivor Series, Drew McIntyre was seen arriving backstage. General Manager Nick Aldis told McIntyre he was still suspended, prompting McIntyre to protest the decision. Cody Rhodes attacked McIntyre in his truck before McIntyre drove away. Rhodes then stormed to the ring and demanded that McIntyre’s suspension be lifted, promising to end McIntyre.
- Damian Priest found an ally in Rhea Ripley, with the duo set to take on Aleister Black and Zelina Vega next week.
- Ilja Dragunov defeated Carmelo Hayes to retain the United States Championship.
- Alexa Bliss defeated Kairi Sane. A brawl ensued after the match, with Nia Jax and Lash Legend standing tall.
- Jade Cargill defeated Alba Fyre.
- Solo Sikoa spoke about the attack from The Wyatt Sicks the previous week. A brawl ensued between The Wyatt Sicks and The MFTs.
- Gunther defeated LA Knight to win The Last Time is Now Tournament and become John Cena’s final opponent.
