A new number one contender for the Undisputed Champion was crowned and more on WWE SmackDown.
Following on from Cody Rhodes’ triumphant victory at WrestleMania, The American Nightmare was in need of his first challenger. In a rematch from WrestleMania, LA Knight and AJ Styles battled it out to become the new number one contender for the title.
On the April 15th Raw, The Miz and R-Truth were presented with new Tag Team Championships. On SmackDown, Austin Theory and Grayson Waller were also gifted new titles.
The Following Results Took Place On WWE SmackDown:
- AJ Styles defeated LA Knight to become the new number one contender to the Undisputed Championship. The match will take place at Backlash on May 4th.
- Solo Sikoa officially introduced Tama Tonga as a member of The Bloodline to Paul Heyman
- Triple H and Nick Aldis presented Austin Theory and Grayson Waller with new Tag Team Championships. Moving forward, they will be known as the WWE Tag Team Champions.
- The Street Profits defeated Authors of Pain, Angel and Berto and The New Catch Republic to become the new number one contenders to the Tag Team Championships
- Solo Sikoa stated that he needed to lose a brother to find a new one. Tama Tonga brought a bloody Kevin Owens out. It was later revealed that a car crash caused Owens to be bloody.
- Santos Escobar defeated Carlito
- Bayley vs. Naomi ended in a no contest when Tiffany Stratton attacked both competitors
