WWE Debuts New Tag Team Championship Design

WWE Debuts New Tag Team Championship Design

The WWE Raw Tag Team Championships have finally been redesigned.

With every other championship given a redesign in the past year, the Tag Team Championships have remained with their red and blue straps and gladiator-style face plate. However, on the April 15th episode of Raw, the titles were given a new name and a much-needed facelift.

Triple H introduced new Raw Tag Team Champions The Miz and R-Truth and congratulated them on their WrestleMania victory. It was then announced that going forward the championships would be referred to as the World Tag Team Championships and were also given a new design similar to that of the top men’s and women’s championships.

Confused by what took place, R-Truth thought that Triple H was Tommaso Ciampa and that he was a magician who could create championships out of thin air. Later that night it was revealed that The Awesome Truth would defend the titles on the April 22nd Raw against #DIY. While not officially announced, it is expected that Austin Theory and Grayson Waller will also receive new championships on the April 19th episode of SmackDown.

What Else Happened On WWE Raw?

Although the introduction of the new championships was well-received by the fans, the opening segment started off the show on a more negative note. Confirming that reports about her injury were true, Rhea Ripley vacated the Women’s World Championship. A new champion will be crowned on the April 22nd episode of Raw.
