Rhea Ripley has been forced to relinquish her Women’s World Championship.
Ahead of WWE Raw on April 15th, news broke that Ripley had suffered a serious injury and may be forced to vacate the championship on Raw. Unfortunately, this report was very accurate. Appearing in the opening segment with her arm in a sling, Ripley stated that she would be out of action for a few months and that she had to give up the one thing she had worked so hard to keep. The Montreal crowd chanted “bullsh*t” at the announcement, to which The Eradicator agreed.
Laying the championship on the ground, Ripley blamed Liv Morgan for the injury and took issue with her “revenge tour.” Morgan interrupted Ripley and was held back by security. After the segment, Ripley was seen backstage with the rest of The Judgment Day. The group hugged and wished Ripley well on her road to recovery.
The relinquishing of the championship brings Ripley’s dominant reign to an end after 380 days. It was later announced that a new champion would be crowned on the April 22nd episode of WWE Raw.
Rhea Ripley Destroys The Division
Beginning at the 2023 Royal Rumble, Ripley guaranteed a title match at WrestleMania 39 by winning the Women’s match from the number one position. Defeating Charlotte Flair at Mania, Ripley would be unstoppable as she defeated everyone in her path. Notable victories included a successful defence in her home country of Australia and defeating Becky Lynch in the opening match of WrestleMania 40.
Features of Wrestling would like to wish Rhea Ripley a full and speedy recovery.
