The road to Sunday Night’s Main Event continues and more on the August 28 edition of WWE SmackDown.
Former NXT Women’s Champion Tatum Paxley was recently called up to the main roster, coming to the aid of Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss. During the August 21 SmackDown, Flair, Bliss and Paxley met Jade Cargill, Michin and B-Fab backstage. With Michin challenging Paxley to a match for next week, Paxley accepted. This will be Paxley’s first match since being called up to the main roster.
This will also be the penultimate episode of SmackDown before Sunday Night’s Main Event. On the SmackDown side, Cody Rhodes vs. Randy Orton and Lil Yachty vs. Baron Corbin have been announced for the show. More matches could be announced for the special during the broadcast.
The show has been pre-taped ahead of time to give the roster and staff time off before the South America tour. As such spoilers for the show are now available. On August 28, the following week’s Raw and SmackDown will be pre-taped to continue the break.
