The August 6th edition of Friday Night SmackDown will air from the Amalie Arena in Tampa Florida. The show will focus on the continuation of the two most newsworthy segments from the previous week, which involved both of the top champions on the blue brand.
Universal Champion Roman Reigns was due to make a title match between himself and Finn Balor on last week’s SmackDown. However, following interference from Baron Corbin and later John Cena, plans were changed. Instead, Cena will now be challenging Roman Reigns at Summerslam on August 21st. As a result of the interruption, Balor has been announced to take on Corbin on the show.
The July 30th SmackDown also saw the return of Sasha Banks. The Boss initially made a surprise return to save Bianca Belair. However, following a tag team match later in the show, Banks turned on the SmackDown Women’s Champion. Expect a match for the championship at SummerSlam to be announced on the show.
