With NXT releases, WWE does not formally announce names publicly, as is the case with main roster releases. The news of talents from the black and gold brand being let go from their contracts was announced by the wrestler’s social media or wrestling news outlets. Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp reported on the releases throughout the night.
Bronson Reed is one of the most surprising names on the list above. The Australian recently won the NXT North American Championship and has been in high profile feuds on NXT with names such as Adam Cole and Johnny Gargano. Reed confirmed the news of his departure from WWE on his Twitter profile:
Just got released from @WWE

This is the latest round of many in an unfortunate number of wrestlers being let go from their WWE contracts this year. In just the past 7 days Bray Wyatt and Ric Flair have each been released from their WWE contracts.
There is currently no formal reason as to why the releases have happened. Features of Wrestling will provide updates to this story when they become available.
