Sasha Banks Returns To SmackDown

Sasha Banks Returns To SmackDown

Sasha Banks made her return to WWE TV on the July 30th edition of SmackDown. This is the first time that the former SmackDown Women’s Champion has been seen inside the squared circle since WrestleMania back in April. Banks initially made her return by saving SmackDown Women’s Champion Bianca Belair from an attack by both Carmella and Zelina Vega. Both Vega and Carmella believe that they should be next to face Belair for the title.

Later in the show, Banks and Belair teamed up to face Vega and Carmella in a tag team match. The Boss and The EST won the match following a Bank Statement submission on Carmella.

After the match, following a short celebration, Sasha turned on Bianca and attacked the SmackDown Women’s Champion. This appears to set up a match between Banks and Belair at SummerSlam for the championship. If so, this will be a rematch from night one of WrestleMania 37, where both superstars main evented the show.

It should be noted that even though Sasha made her return on this show, The Boss was due to come back to WWE earlier. Sasha Banks was originally advertised for the go-home edition of the blue brand for Money in the Bank, which was the first show with live fans in attendance in over a year.

Expect a SummerSlam match to be made official in the coming weeks on SmackDown.
