WWE SmackDown Draw Big Rating For New Year’s Revolution Special

WWE SmackDown draws a huge rating.

WWE SmackDown drew a very impressive rating for a recent episode of SmackDown.

As reported by Wrestlenomics, the New Year’s Revolution special on January 5th drew an average audience of 2.465 million people and obtained an 18-49 rating of 0.67.

The show saw an increase of 82% compared to the previous week on December 29th, however, it should be noted that this was a best-of episode and not a new broadcast. New Year’s Revolution still did an increase compared to the previous live SmackDown on December 22nd, up 17%.

What Happened On WWE SmackDown?

Much like the Day 1 edition of Raw on January 1st, WWE made sure to make the first SmackDown of 2024 a newsworthy show. In the only title match of the show, Iyo Sky successfully defended the Women’s Championship against Michin.

A major return took place on the show, as The Authors of Pain returned to WWE after being away for more than 3 years. AOP and Paul Ellering aligned themselves with Karrion Kross and Scarlett to target Bobby Lashley and The Street Profits.

The main event of the show saw LA Knight, Randy Orton and AJ Styles battle it out to see who would be the next challenger for Roman Reigns. Unfortunately, the match would not end as most expected as The Bloodline came to the ring and beat down all 3 challengers. As a result, General Manager Nick Aldis declared that Reigns would defend the title in a Fatal 4-Way match at the Royal Rumble.
