WWE concluded their week of massive programming with a New Year’s Revolution special episode of SmackDown.
Much like the Day 1 special of Raw and the New Year’s Evil NXT, SmackDown presented multiple big matches including number one contenders crowned and the Women’s Championship defended.
Additionally, live appearances from Roman Reigns and Logan Paul were announced ahead of time.
The Following Results Took Place On WWE SmackDown: New Year’s Revolution:
- Roman Reigns arrived at the arena and was aksed about The Rock’s appearance on Raw. Reigns laughed off the question
- Kevin Owens defeated Santos Escobar to become the new number one contender to the United States Championship. The match will take place at the Royal Rumble
- Karrion Kross reintroduced The Authors of Pain to the WWE fans. Akam and Rezar attacked The Street Profits and Bobby Lashley
- Iyo Sky defeated Michin to retain the WWE Women’s Championship
- Butch revealed his mystery partner to be NXT star Tyler Bate. Butch and Bate defeated Pretty Deadly
- AJ Styles vs. LA Knight vs. Randy Orton ended in a no contest when Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa interfered. General Manager Nick Aldis informed Paul Heyman that the title match at the Royal Rumble would be a Fatal 4-Way.
