WWE Raw Results August 31: Who Will Face Roman Reigns In Mexico?

Roman Reigns found out who his next title defence will be against and more on the August 31 edition of WWE Raw.

A tournament has been ongoing to determine which luchador would face Roman Reigns for the World Heavyweight Championship in Mexico. The finals of the tournament took place on the show, with brothers Penta and Rey Fenix facing off in the final round. Additionally, Raquel Rodriguez defended her Women’s Intercontinental Championship against the woman she won the title from, Sol Ruca.

The August 31 Raw and September 4 SmackDown were pre-taped ahead of time. The reason for the taping was to give the staff and roster an extended break before they embark on a South America tour.

Joe Tessitore and Wade Barrett were on commentary for the show.

WWE Raw Results August 31:

• Royce Keys & OTM attacked the Usos backstage as part of the col open. Jacob Fatu ran them off. Fatu then stormed to the ring before the first match began, calling out Royce Keys and OTM.
• Raquel Rodriguez defeated Sol Ruca to retain the WWE Women’s Intercontinental title after Lyra Valkyria interfered.
• Dragon Lee defeated Ethan Page to earn a future Intercontinental Championship match with Chad Gable at the Mexico show.
• Roman Reigns and LA Knight had an in-ring promo. Solo Sikoa was seen laid out backstage. Knight went to save Sikoa, but was also attacked.
• A vignette for Lola Vice aired, teasing her arrival on the main roster.
• Dominik Mysterio vs. Je’Von Evans ended in a disqualification when JD McDonagh interfered. This turned into a tag match after Joe Hendry made the save.
• Judgment Day (Dominik Mysterio & JD McDonagh) defeated Je’Von Evans and Joe Hendry.
• Becky Lynch and Stephanie Vaquer had a backstage segment. Lynch said she would rather take the Women’s Championship off of her instead of Liv Morgan.
• Paul Heyman cut a promo backstage.
• Penta defeated Rey Fenix to earn a future World title match against Roman Reigns. The show closed with Reigns confronting Penta over their future match. The title match will take place on September 14 in Mexico.
