Two title matches are now official for the September 14 edition of WWE Raw, which will air live from Mexico City, Mexico.
On the August 31 WWE Raw, Intercontinental Champion Chad Gable appeared live and spoke about his time in Mexico. With Gable having history in Mexico from his time in AAA, the champion stated that he had been allowed to pick his next opponent. It appeared that Dragon Lee would be the challenger, but Ethan Page protested. With Gable wanting to face the next, an impromptu number one contenders match was booked for then and there.
Although Page tried to use an exposed turnbuckle to his advantage, the referee spotted it. As Page protested, Lee capitalised with Operation Dragon to pick up the victory.
In the main event of the show, Penta defeated his brother Rey Fenix to become the new number one contender to the World Heavyweight Championship. Penta hit the Mexican Destroyer onto Fenix to be next in line to challenge Roman Reigns for Raw’s top title. Reigns confronted Penta as the show went off the air.
