Leon Slater competed in one of the marquee matches at RevPro’s Wembley show, but not every provider streamed the fight.
August 29 saw RevPro take over Wembley Arena for its 14 year anniversary show. Looking to reach a wider audience, the show was simulcast on MyAEW as well as the RevPro on Demand service. However, when it came time for Leon Slater’s match with Liam Slater, MyAEW did not show it.
Slater is a member of the TNA roster, who also has an ongoing relationship with WWE. With AEW stars also being featured on the RevPro show, there was some speculation that TNA President Carlos Silva may have made the call to have the Slater vs. Slater match pulled from the service. However, the call came from the owner of Revolution Pro Wrestling, Andy Quildan.
As reported in a Daily Update by Dave Meltzer, Quildan was not told to take the match off the service, but it would be put on YouTube for those who were unable to see it:
“Andy Quildan noted to us that the Leon Slater vs. Liam Slater match will be put up on YouTube soon from yesterday’s RevPro show. There were no direct instructions not to air the match on MyAEW but to avoid problems since it involved a TNA wrestler, he made the call not to put it on MyAEW. It did air on the RevPro stream, but to make it up for those who purchased the PPV from RevPro, they are putting it up,”
