WWE is very aware that its announcement concerning WrestleMania 42 will not be universally loved by the fans.
In late May, news broke that New Orleans would no longer be the host city for the 2026 event. As WrestleMania has never changed states after being made official, the news shocked fans and sent speculation into overdrive when it came to where the show would take place next year.
While some theorised that the dramatic shift was set to pave the way for a Saudi Arabia or London WrestleMania, it was later reported that WrestleMania 42 would take place in Las Vegas, marking a return to Sin City for the second year in a row.
Although Triple H has confirmed that New Orleans will host Money in the Bank in 2026, there has been no official announcement about next year’s WrestleMania. Speaking about the inevitable update on WrestleVotes Radio, it was noted that WWE are aware of the online backlash and will be taking this into consideration:
“We are told the official announcement is on the verge, with WWE deciding on how they complete the rollout, especially within the social media space as they are aware of the backlash incoming. WWE is aware of the backlash that has already surfaced on social media so they are taking that into account when they make the official announcement. With all that said, according to a source, TKO is hopeful they’ll be able to replicate the entire weekend, which includes having the exact same venues locked down, which in part is causing the hold-up in making the announcement. WWE is hoping to host its events outside of WrestleMania at Allegiant Stadium within the Las Vegas Convention Center once again, Fontainebleau hotel, and T-Mobile Arena.”
WrestleMania 42 Looks Set To Be Announced For Las Vegas
With 3 TV tapings, the Hall of Fame, various WWE events and the WWE World attraction, WrestleMania 41 broke every company record in financials and social media numbers. With the event being so successful, it is being speculated that this was the main reason why the show will be making its return to Vegas.
