The Mayor of London Sadiq Khan remains determined to bring WrestleMania to the UK and has once again sent a message to Triple H about the biggest show of the year being hosted in the city.
Although WrestleMania in the UK looked to be pretty much impossible at one point in time, WWE’s increased presence in the country over the past few years has given many hope that it could finally happen. Additionally, WWE President Nick Khan and Triple H met with London Mayor Sadiq Khan in July 2024 regarding the city hosting the event in the future.
However, despite the meetings and the recent uncertainty surrounding WrestleMania 42, which many theorised as setting up for the London announcement, fans in the UK are yet to see anything materialise. Still looking to make good on his promise, Khan has made another pitch to the Chief Content Officer regarding a future UK Mania.
While being interviewed by CNBC’s Tania Bryer, Khan outlined the benefits of the biggest show of the year being held in London:
“I’d love for WrestleMania to come to London. Triple H if you’re watching, we want WrestleMania to come to London. If WrestleMania came to London, my message to the team there is that we wouldn’t just have a great weekend, we’d have a festival, of you know, legends in WrestleMania coming to London, current stars, but also future stars as well. It will open a completely new market for them as well.”
“I think the potential has not been reached in terms of WrestleMania. We are the sporting capital in my view, of the world. And if WrestleMania wants to expand, the obvious place to come is London.”
The last major WWE show to take place in London was Money in the Bank 2023, which emanated from the O2 Arena in London.
Triple H Makes Major Announcement For 2026
As previously noted, WrestleMania 42 looks to be changing location despite being announced for New Orleans earlier in the year. While Triple H did not confirm where the 2026 event would be taking place, he did confirm that New Orleans would host Money in the Bank next year.
