WWE WrestleMania 42 No Longer Taking Place In New Orleans

WrestleMania 42

A major update has been provided on WrestleMania 42 as the biggest show of the year is no longer set to emanate from New Orleans.

The news was first broken by Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomicswho has been notified by the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation that the biggest show of the year will not be coming to Louisiana in 2026.

The report notes that the show is being scheduled for a future year and the city will receive Money in the Bank in 2026 instead. The news was corroborated by Sean Ross Sapp of Fightfulwho confirms that the update is part of a larger deal that will include Money in the Bank and a Mania at some point in the future. It is also noted that UFC 318 has been announced for New Orleans in July 2025, which is also part of a new agreement.

While it is unknown at this time where WrestleMania will take place in 2026, the two most speculated locations on social media are Saudi Arabia, who will be hosting the 2026 Royal Rumble, and London.

WrestleMania 42 Moving Location

The next WrestleMania location looked to have been confirmed earlier in the year when The Rock made an appearance on SmackDown in New Orleans to break the news. The city previously hosted the event in 2014 and 2018 and was received positively by the fans when it was announced that WrestleMania would return to the city for a third time.
