An update has been provided on John Cena’s major announcement at WWE Backlash, with one theory being seemingly debunked.
As reported by WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select, Cena’s appearance at the Premium Live Event is expected to be tied to Club WWE, which is set to launch soon. The report adds that there are high expectations for the service internally, with Cena being the face of this announcement being a “huge boost.”
With the announcement being hyped by WWE and Cena, there has been some speculation online that the update could be regarding a future WrestleMania location. However, when asked about this possibility, a source told WrestleVotes, “Probably not.”
Announced in mid-April, Club WWE is described as “the ultimate insider membership program designed to bring fans closer to WWE than ever before through exclusive access, rewards and experiences.”

John Cena To Deliver Announcement At Backlash, But Will Not Wrestle
Another fan theory for Cena is that the 17-time World Champion could be revealed as Danhausen’s mystery partner. Danhausen, who is set to face The Miz and Kit Wilson on the show, has not yet announced who he will be teaming with. With betting odds released for the match, Cena is listed as a huge outsider.
Retiring back in December 2025, Cena has promised that he would remain as an ambassador for the company, but will not wrestle. Cena last appeared as the host of WrestleMania 42, where he was interrupted by The Miz and Kit Wilson. Danhausen and a group of mini wrestlers attacked Miz adn Wilson, with Cena not getting physical during the segment.
