Wrestling veteran and backstage producer Tommy Dreamer has confirmed that he and TNA have mutually parted ways.
Speaking on Busted Open Radio on June 17, an emotional Dreamer announced the news that he was no longer with the company. Dreamer said that he had a great conversation with President Carlos Silva the day prior regarding the news. Dreamer worked in the company as a backstage official and had previously led creative.
Dreamer, who had been a part of TNA for 10 years, wished that TNA would be ok without him, adding that he loved going to work and had so many highlights from his tenure. In a follow-up report from Fightful Select, it was noted that Dreamer’s creative had come under heavy criticism from multiple talents, but he was well-liked by the team. One source stated that they expected Dreamer to leave soon, but expected the change to be after Slammiversary on June 28.
In a follow-up report by Fightful Select, former WWE producer Road Dogg is rumoured to be Dreamer’s replacement.
Tommy Dreamer Is Latest Name To Depart TNA
The news of Dreamer’s exit comes just 24 hours after another notable departure. On June 16, it was reported that Tessa Blanchard’s second stint in the company had come to an end. The alleged reason for Blanchard’s exit was that she had been working for TNA and CMLL, and was effectively forced to choose one promotion. As Blanchard was reportedly paid and booked more by CMLL, the Mexican promotion was the choice.
