Callum Newman Gives Update On G1 Climax Following Injury At Dominion

Former IWGP World Champion Callum Newman has given fans an update regarding his participation in the 2026 G1 Climax tournament.

At Dominion, Newman was among the names announced for the annual round-robin tournament, which is set to begin in July. However, following the main event of the show, which also saw Newman lose his title to Yota Tsuji, the British star confirmed he was dealing with an injury.

While Newman would not provide specifics, he did note that his shoulder is “f*cked.” On June 17, Newman provided further clarification on social media, where he promised to still be in the 2026 tournament:

I’ve got a point to prove. I’ll do the G1 Climax with one arm if I have to.

This will be Newman’s third G1 Climax tournament after competing in the 2024 and 2025 iterations.

The majority of the names have been confirmed for the next G1. 2025 G1 winner Konosuke Takeshita, Newman and Tsuji are all set to compete, along with British stars Zack Sabre Jr. and Gabe Kidd. 4 matches will determine the final spots. The announced field is currently as follows:
