The Rock and Roman Reigns are ready for WrestleMania 40.
In what will be Rock’s first major WWE match in over a decade, The People’s Champion and The Tribal Chief will team up to take on Cody Rodes and Seth Rollins. If The Bloodline is victorious, Rhodes will have the ultimate obstacle to overcome on night 2 as his match with Reigns will be contested under Bloodline rules.
While appearing on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Reigns was asked about the Cody Rhodes story and responded that Rhodes’s story is not the one he thinks it is:
“I think he’s reading the wrong book. We don’t care about his story,” Reigns said. “It’s funny because [The Rock] told me this story a long time ago. In the wrestling business, there’s no call sheet, you know, he’s number one, he’s number two. Everybody on our roster believes they are number one. So it’s just a shark tank, everyone taking each other out. This guy has been chasing me for two years. I’ve beaten him, he’s crossed this bridge already, we close this book completely on Cody Rhodes and we display what the most powerful family is all about.”
Discussing his opponents, Rock added that they are both tough but there can only be one winner, adding that Reigns has been helping train for the in-ring return:
“For those that don’t know, Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins are badasses in their own right. I liken Cody Rhodes to Luke Skywalker, and I liken Seth Rollins to The Joker,” he said. “These guys are really unique, kind of crazy guys…there can only be one. And when there’s only one, you have The Tribal Chief and The Final Boss. I have the pleasure of getting back into the ring. I’ve been working my ass off. I’ve been working hard, [Roman Reigns] has been working with me.”
The Rock Calls Out Cody Rhodes Fans
Much like Reigns, the Hollywood star has no interest in seeing The American Nightmare become champion. Attempting to interfere with plans, Rock tried to convince Rhodes that he should face Reigns but was ultimately unsuccessful following mass backlash from the fans. Referring to the passionate fans, The Rock gave his thoughts on the “Cody Crybabies.”
