Seth Rollins Won't Rule Out One More Match With Roman Reigns

Seth Rollins can see a scenario where he and Roman Reigns will face off once again.

The main event of SummerSlam 2026 saw Rollins challenge Reigns for the World Heavyweight Championship. As well as the history between the two and Rollins’ 2014 betrayal, the story of the match was that Reigns had never beaten Rollins in a major contest.

Reigns won the match to finally pick up that big win over his former ally-turned-rival. Following the match that had more than a decade of history behind it, it appeared that this could be the final time both men went one-on-one. However, according to Rollins, their paths could still cross once more.

Appearing on ESPN New York ahead of the Chicago Bears facing the New York Jets, Rollins was asked if he had had his final match against Reigns at SummerSlam:

“I don’t know that that’s the case. I think it closed the loop on The Shield and the betrayal story. I feel like it allowed both of us, our characters, to move in different directions so we’re not tethered to that chair shot from 12 years ago. We can take the characters [and move on], and we have over the years. There’s always been that through line, but now that feels for better or for worse, complete.”

“As Long As There Are Titles,  I Can See It Happening Again”: Seth Rollins On Facing Roman Reigns Again

Continuing, Rollins brought up that they are both top stars in the company, meaning that there could always be another title match down the road:

“I’m 40, Roman’s 41, might be 42. We still got time; we’re still in the prime of our careers so never say never. We can always come back to it. I don’t think either of us are going anywhere from the top of the card anytime soon. So as long as there are titles to be won and legacies to be made, I can see it happening again.”
