- Finishing moves: Stomp, Pedigree
- Signature move: Phoenix Splash
Born Colby Daniel Lopez, the future Seth Rollins first competed in IWA under the name Tyler Black. Competing all around the United States for promotions such as PWG, NWA Midwest and FIP, Black made himself known to the wider wrestling fanbase due to his work in Ring of Honor.
Capturing the ROH World Championship once and the Tag Team Championships twice with Jimmy Jacobs, Black signed with WWE developmental territory FCW in 2010. Rebranded as Seth Rollins, the future World Champion was a part of the promotion when it rebranded into NXT. A part of the gold rush tournament, Rollins defeated Jinder Mahal in the final to be crowned the first-ever NXT Champion.
2012 saw Rollins make his main roster debut as part of The Shield, joining the likes of The Rock and The Undertaker as WWE stars who have made their first televised appearance at the pay-per-view. Helping CM Punk retain the WWE Championship, The Shield went on a dominant run that saw them obtain individual and tag team championship success while also picking up multiple victories over a reunited Evolution.
In what was one of the most shocking moments of 2014, Rollins turned heel by attacking Reigns and Ambrose before siding with The Authority. Winning the Money in the Bank ladder match that year, Rollins has one of the most memorable cash-ins in history as he hijacked the main event of WrestleMania 31 to win his first WWE Championship.
Relinquishing the title due to injury, Rollins made his return shortly after WrestleMania 32. Although he defeated Roman Reigns at Money in the Bank to win back the WWE Championship, Rollins dropped the title shortly afterwards thanks to a cash-in from Dean Ambrose. At SummerSlam, Rollins faced Finn Balor in a losing effort in a match that saw Balor crowned the first-ever Universal Champion.
Feuding with Triple H and defeating The Game at WrestleMania 33, Rollins went on to reunite The Shield in what was the first of many reunions over the next couple of years. After Roman Reigns announced he was going on hiatus due to his leukaemia returning, Ambrose turned heel and feuded with his former Shield brother.
Winning the 2019 Royal Rumble, Rollins defeated Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 35 to win the Universal Championship. Losing the title to Lesnar, Rollins defeated The Beast for the second time in 2019 at SummerSlam before becoming involved in a feud with “The Fiend.” Following an infamous Hell in a Cell match, Rollins lost the title to Bray Wyatt in Saudi Arabia the following month.
Turning heel again in 2020, Rollins debuted his latest iteration of The Monday Night Messiah. Portraying a cult leader persona, Rollins recruited Buddy Murphy as a disciple and defeated Dominik Mysterio at SummerSlam in what was Mysterio’s first match.
After feuding with Edge as The Visionary, Rollins was placed into a match at WrestleMania 38 against a mystery opponent, which was revealed to be a returning Cody Rhodes. After losing to Rhodes two more times, Rollins feuded with the likes of Matt Riddle, Austin Theory and Logan Paul.
Becoming the inaugural World Heavyweight Champion in 2023, Rollins held onto the title until WrestleMania 40 when he dropped the gold to Drew McIntyre. The night before, Rollins teamed with Rhodes to take on Roman Reigns and The Rock in a losing effort.
Entering a feud with a returning CM Punk in early 2025, Rollins also drew Roman Reigns into the rivalry, leading to all 3 men battling it out at WrestleMania 41. With Paul Heyman betraying Reigns and Punk to side with Rollins, The Visionary has since recruited Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed into his faction.
