The line-up for WWE WrestleMania 42 is now starting to take shape as more matches have been confirmed for the biggest show of the year.
While CM Punk for Roman Reigns was confirmed shortly after the Royal Rumble, fans now have a better idea of what to expect following the February 23 episode of Raw. On the show, Women’s Royal Rumble winner Liv Morgan chose Stephanie Vaquer as her champion of choice for WrestleMania. Later that week at Elimination Chamber, Rhea Ripley and Randy Orton each won their respective Chamber matches, meaning that they are guaranteed World Title matches at Mania next month. While it first appeared that Orton would challenge Drew McIntyre for the WWE Championship, a title change on the next episode of SmackDown saw Cody Rhodes capture the WWE Championship for the third time in his career.
Also on the February 23 Raw, Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman appeared live. Heyman bragged about Lesnar’s past accomplishments before turning his attention to Mania 42. Heyman stated that an open challenge for Lesnar’s opponent had been set, but didn’t believe that anyone would be brave enough to answer. 2 weeks later, Oba Femi laid out Lesnar and answered the challenge.
