MJF and Mark Briscoe have assembled their teams for the 12-man steel cage match that is set to take place at Forbidden Door.
The teams being selected was the main storyline throughout the June 17 edition of AEW Dynamite. In the opening segment, MJF spoke with The Don Callis Family backstage. Callis announced that joining MJF would be Kevin Knight, Kyle Fletcher, Jake Doyle, Kazuchika Okada and Andrade el Idolo.
While Briscoe’s choice of members of The Conglomeration looked to be his plan, Kyle Fletcher and Kazuchika Okada had other ideas. Later in the show, both men were seen backstage having beaten down Tomohiro Ishii.
Prior to the main event, Briscoe revealed his team. With Ishii out, Briscoe announced that his 5 allies would be Kyle O’Reilly, Orange Cassidy, Roderick Strong, Konosuke Takeshita and Darby Allin.
Team MJF vs. Team Mark Briscoe Headlines Dynamite
The main event of the show saw all 12 men in action in a tag team match prior to the steel cage war at Forbidden Door. Team MJF won the match after the World Champion submitted Roderick Strong with the armbar.
If Team Briscoe wins at Forbidden Door, Briscoe will receive a future opportunity at the World Championship. However, if Team MJF wins, the World Champion has promised Kevin Knight a future title opportunity.
