The first WWE SmackDown following WrestleMania takes place on April 12th.
With a historic WrestleMania in the books, the company ushering in a new era in more ways than one and a well-received Raw after Mania, many will hope that the positive momentum continues on the blue brand.
The biggest story from WrestleMania 40 was that Cody Rhodes defeated Roman Reigns to become the new Undisputed Champion. Promising to be a full-time champion and to continue the celebration, The American Nightmare has been announced to appear on SmackDown.
On WrestleMania Sunday, Women’s Royal Rumble winner Bayley defeated Iyo Sky to become the new WWE Women’s Champion. Much like Rhodes, Bayley will appear live to celebrate her victory and to find out what’s next for the new champion.
Although no matches have been announced ahead of time, it is expected that there will be some surprises on SmackDown, much like there was on Raw.
