AEW returns to Mexico on August 5 to present the latest Grand Slam special, which will feature a major title match.
At Redemption, “Speedball” Mike Bailey won a ladder match to become the new number one contender to the International Championship. Bailey will get his opportunity against Kyle Fletcher at the upcoming special.
At All In, Will Ospreay will challenge Kenny Omega for the World Championship. Ahead of the Wembley Stadium showdown, Ospreay will be in action against a former friend, Mark Davis. It has also been announced that there will be no outside interference allowed in the contest.
Also at All In, Mercedes Mone will challenge Willow Nightingale for the AEW Women’s Championship. Mone interrupted Nightingale’s celebration on the July 29 AEW Dynamite, leading to a beatdown on Nightingale from Mone and Divine Dominion. The Brawling Birds made the save for the champion, leading to a six woman tag match being announced for next week’s show.
