Former AEW Coach Criticises WrestleDream Main Event

A former AEW coach has taken issue with the main event of the WrestleDream pay-per-view, with one spot in particular being the main cause for concern.

The final match of the October 18 show saw Jon Moxley and Darby Allin go to war once more, this time in an “I Quit” match. Given the match was on last, the no DQ stipulation and both men detesting one another, fans were expecting there to be a lot of violence in the bout.

Along with tables, choking and bamboo skewers all being used, the most memorable part of the match saw a fishtank brought into the ring, which was then filled with water. In an attempt to get Allin to quit, Moxley submerged the former TNT Champion’s head underwater multiple times, but Allin would not give up.

The spot was called out by former coach Sarah Stock on social media, who claimed that kids could recreate the spot:

“You know who should stop this? Mothers. With their remote control. This is worse than the plastic bag over the head. Kids are going to end up dead trying this stuff at home.”

It should be noted that the AEW PPV was presented as a TV-14 show, and the promotion has a history of violent matches that are not suitable for young children.

Stock was with All Elite Wrestling from 2023 until April 2025.

Who Won The Main Event At AEW WrestleDream?

When all was said and done, it was Allin who emerged the winner in the headline match. Following repeated interference from The Deathriders, Sting made his return to come to the aid of Allin. With the match returning to a one on one affair, Allin forced Moxley to quit after locking him in the Scorpion Deathlock, Sting’s finsihing move.
