Darby Allin Wins "I Quit" Match At AEW WrestleDream With Help From Sting

Darby Allin was the one standing tall at the end of AEW WrestleDream, as the legendary Sting also made an appearance to help out his former tag partner.

The final match of the show saw Allin face off against Jon Moxley in an “I Quit” match. As many expected, the match lived up to violent expectations with chains, skewers and even a fishtank used throughout the brawl, which was used by Moxley in an attempt to drown Allin and force the former TNT Champion to say “I Quit.”

Unsurprisingly, The Deathriders played a factor in the match, frequently cutting off Allin’s momentum. After Allin was submerged in the fishtank multiple times, the lights went out in the arena. When they came back on, Sting emerged with a baseball bat in hand to the delight of the fans. The Icon took out The Deathriders with the bat while also shattering the fishtank. Sting then handed Allin the back and carried Marina Shafir to the back.

Allin went on to win the match with the Scorpion Deathlock, Sting’s finisher.

Throughout Sting’s time in AEW, the WWE and TNA Hall of Famer teamed with Allin for all of his matches. The duo also captured the AEW Tag Team Champions, successfully defending them against The Young Bucks in Sting’s final match at AEW Revolution 2024.

Sting Previously Came To The Aid Of Darby Allin In 2024

The last time fans saw Sting in AEW prior to WrestleDream was back at All In 2024, which saw Allin lose to Jack Perry in a coffin match. Following the match, Perry and The Young Bucks looked to inflict further punishment onto Allin, but The Icon made the save for his longtime friend.

Currently, Sting has been making appearances at conventions around the world, letting fans know that this will be their final opportunity to meet him in full face paint.
