Bryan Danielson made a rare in-ring appearance after AEW Grand Slam: Mexico went off the air to come to the aid of an old friend.
After the debut show in Mexico went off the air on June 18, matches were taped for the upcoming CMLL X ROH Global Wars special. One of the matches was Blue Panther vs. Lee Moriarty. After the match, Panther was attacked by Moritarty, Carlie Bravo, Shawn Dean and Shane Taylor.
Danielson’s music then hit and The American Dragon received a thunderous ovation from the live fans in Arena Mexico. Danielson and friends arrived for the save, with the former AEW World Champion delivering a busaiku knee. Danielson hugged Blue Panther and celebrated with the babyfaces to close out the segment.
Fan footage from the appearance can be seen below:
Danielson has previously stated in interviews that Blue Panther is his favourite luchador. Danielson faced Blue Panther in CMLL in April 2024 and defeated the former Middleweight Champion at Viernes Espectacular.
Will Bryan Danielson Be At AEW All In?
Danielson last appeared inside an AEW ring at WrestleDream 2024, which saw him lose the World Championship to Jon Moxley and be attacked by The Deathriders after the match. With the biggest show of the year, All In: Texas, taking place on July 12th, fans have been hoping that The American Dragon will make his return to action. Unfortunatley, the latest update on this is not a positive one.
In an interview that took place earlier in the month, Bryan Danielson admitted that he is still not cleared to wrestle:
“I don’t know, but right now, I’m not cleared to wrestle. Even if I wanted to, if I said, ‘Hey, I’m going to be there.’ I will be there in Kent. I will be there live in front of the people, but probably not on television. It’ll just be for the people there live.”
