Nia Jax was among 18 WWE superstars recently released from their contracts on Thursday November 4th. At the time of writing, no official statement regarding these releases or the reason why has been made by WWE themselves. As reported by Sean Ross Sapp from Fightful, one reason behind the mass releases has been budget cuts by WWE, in order to save the company money, despite posting record profits in 2021.
While this appears to be the reason for the majority of the superstars let go, a new report claims that there is more behind Nia Jax’s release than financial reasons. The New York Post has reported that Jax’s vaccination status is the reason by the former Raw Women’s Champion has been released.
A source with knowledge of WWE’s operations told The Post that one of the reasons Nia Jax, a former WWE Raw women’s champion, was released is that she is unvaccinated.
This report appears to have been backed up by Fightful. Their subcription service, Fightful Select has reported that multiple WWE superstars have not been vaccinated, with at least 5 not choosing to receive their COVID vaccinations.
Nia Jax has been quiet on social media recently, with no updates on Twitter since late August 2021. Jax is yet to make a statement on her release or the alleged reasons behind it at the time of writing. Features of Wrestling will provide any updates when they become available.
