“The Demon” Finn Balor Returns At SmackDown

Finn Balor’s alter ego The Demon made a return to WWE TV on the September 10th episode of SmackDown. “The Demon” confronted Universal Champion Roman Reigns to close the show. WWE have also announced that “The Demon” Finn Balor will be competing at Extreme Rules and will be facing The Tribal Chief for the Universal Championship.

Roman Reigns was ringside for the main event match, where The Usos defended the SmackDown Tag Team Championships against The Street Profits. The Universal Champion aided The Usos in defending their championships via interference. Reigns locked a guillotine onto Montez Ford, meaning that The Usos retained via disqualification. Following the attack, Roman grabbed a microphone and said that he doesn’t back down from any challenger and would face Brock Lesnar once he was done with Finn Balor.

The lights then went out inside Madison Square Garden and “The Demon” made his way to the ring. The challenger stood face to face with the champion as SmackDown went off the air.

This is the first time that “The Demon” Finn Balor has been seen on SmackDown. The last time that Balor appeared in this form was at Super Showdown in 2019. This match saw Balor defend his Intercontinental Championship against Andrade in Saudi Arabia.
