Zoey Stark has issued a statement to the fans after suffering an injury during her match on WWE Raw.
On the May 20th episode of Raw, Stark competed in a Money in the Bank qualifying match against Rhea Ripley and a returning Kairi Sane. In the early stages of the match, Stark hit a missile dropkick but landed badly. As Stark grabbed her knee, the match was paused with medical staff coming in to check on the Raw star.
As Zoey Stark was helped to back and no longer cleared to compete, the match continued as a one-on-one match with Ripley pinning Sane to advance to the Women’s Money in the Bank on June 7th.
“I Won’t Be Able To Perform For A While”: Zoey Stark
Taking to social media, Stark thanked the fans for all of their support, adding that she will be out for a while:
Wow the love and support means more to me than you’ll ever know! What hurts more than my knee is knowing I wont be able to perform for all of you for a while. I LOVE what I do and I’m blessed to do this. As the saying goes, the comeback is greater than the setback. Love you guys #StarkMarks
Although there has been no confirmation, it is suspected that Stark suffered a torn ACL. The typical recovery time for an injury of that nature is around 9 months to a year. At the time of writing, WWE has not provided an update on Stark regarding the specifics of the injury or the projected return window.
Features of Wrestling would like to wish Zoey Stark a full and speedy recovery.
