Zilla Fatu has arrived in WWE following his heavily rumoured debut in NXT.
Fatu made his first appearance for the company on the August 11 broadcast. Interfering in a number one contenders match between Grayson Waller and Cruz Montana, Fatu caused the match to be a no contest. He then hit splashes onto both men before leaving the ring and confronting NXT Champion Tony D’Angelo. Fatu said that there was a new sheriff in town before making his way up the ramp.
Unlike previous debuts, such as Cruz Montana [previously known as Mike Santana in TNA], commentary referred to Fatu by name. This likely means that he will continue to use the name moving forward.
Fatu recently dropped the House of Glory Crown Jewel Championship to Amazing Red at the August 8 event. Fatu said goodbye to the fans after the match, intensifying the rumours that he was on his way to WWE.
Zilla Fatu Is Officially In WWE
Fatu, 26, is the son of late WWE star Umaga, and is also a part of the larger Anoa’i family that includes Roman Reigns and The Usos. Fatu was trained by Booker T and wrestled regularly Booker’s promotion, Reality of Wrestling. Fatu also previously competed in TNA.
When more Bloodline members signed with WWE and made their debuts, Fatu was continually rumoured to factor into the storylines.
