WWE SummerSlam Location Revealed

WWE have announced the location for SummerSlam. The August pay per view will be held in Las Vegas, with the Allegiant Stadium being named as the host venue. The stadium is primarily used as the home field for American Football team the Las Vegas Raiders.

In May it was announced that the biggest party of the summer would be taking place on Saturday August 21st. However, the initial announcement only gave a date and no venue. The new announcement confirms the rumours that SummerSlam would be taking place in Las Vegas. This also means that two major combat events are taking place on the same night in Sin City. Both Summerslam and the Manny Pacquiao vs. Errol Spence Jr boxing match take place in Vegas on August 21st.

SummerSlam will also have fans in attendance and the stadium will be at capacity. The news has been confirmed by WWE in a press release promoting the event:

Located adjacent to the world-famous Las Vegas Strip, Allegiant Stadium is a state-of-the-art global events destination and home to the Las Vegas Raiders. SummerSlam will be one of the first sporting events held at full capacity at Allegiant Stadium with tickets on sale Friday, June 18.

“Coming out of the pandemic, it was important to us to have a big event like SummerSlam in Las Vegas. We expect to deliver a great night of sports-entertainment for the people of the city and a boost in foot traffic for the casinos and local businesses,” said Nick Khan, WWE President & Chief Revenue Officer and Las Vegas native.

This will also be the first time that WWE’s flagship summer pay per view has taken place inside of an NFL stadium. The Allegiant Stadium website states that their capacity is 65,000. However, this would be only with fixed seating. More temporary seats will be available on the pitch, closer to the ring.

Tickets for SummerSlam will go on sale Friday June 18th and will start at $25.
