Summerslam Announced For Saturday August 21st

WWE have announced more details for Summerslam. One of the company’s most historic events will take place on August 21st 2021. This date is on a Saturday, meaning that Summerslam will break away from the tradition of holding pay per view events on a Sunday.

At the time of writing, no location has been officially announced by WWE to host the event. On WWE’s website, it is stated that the location for the event will be announced on June 5th as part of the Belmont Stakes’ pre show on NBC. Tickets for Summerslam will go on sale June 18th.

While no venue has been formally announced, there has been speculation by various sources as to where the location might be. The Wrestling Observer are reporting that Summerslam will take place at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. If this is true, WWE will be hosting their event on the same day and city as the boxing match between Manny Pacquiao and Errol Spence Jr.

The currently announced WWE pay per views and dates are as follows:

With WWE and fans seeing Summerslam as a marquee event, expect big matches to be announced for the show. 2017 was headlined by a fatal 4 way for the Universal Championship. Brock Lesnar defended against Braun Strowman, Samoa Joe and Roman Reigns. The full match can be seen below:
