The fallout from Backlash, Money in the Bank qualifying matches and more took place on the latest episode of WWE SmackDown.
At Backlash, John Cena retained the Undisputed Championship over Randy Orton thanks to an inadvertent assist from R-Truth. While Cena did not appear live on SmackDown, the events were addressed when R-Truth spoke with Wade Barrett.
A title match also happened on the show as Tiffany Stratton put her Women’s Championship on the line against former friend Nia Jax.
With Money in the Bank set to take place on June 7th, the first round of qualifying matches took place.
Joe Tessitore and Wade Barrett were the announce team for the show.
The Following Results Took Place On WWE SmackDown:
- After a video package took place recapping the events of Backlash, United States Champion Jacob Fatu, Solo Sikoa and Jeff Cobb all appeared live. Sikoa spoke about the victory before Fatu interrupted. LA Knight launched a sneak attack on Cobb and left. It was later noted that Jeff Cobb will now be known as JC Mateo.
- Alexa Bliss defeated Chelsea Green and Michin to qualify for the Women’s Money in the Bank ladder match.
- Fraxiom defeated DIY.
- R-Truth spoke to Wade Barrett about Backlash and being attacked by John Cena after the show. Truth will face Cena at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
- Aleister Black vs. Carmelo Hayes ended in a no contest thanks to interference from The Miz.
- Drew McIntyre cut a promo and announced that he would face Damian Priest in a steel cage match next week.
- Solo Sikoa defeated Jey Uso and Rey Fenix to qualify for the Men’s Money in the Bank match.
- Tiffany Stratton defeated Nia Jax to retain the Women’s Championship.
