Nia Jax was left beaten and bloody following her latest match on WWE SmackDown and has detailed the after-effects of the encounter.
Competing in the main event of the May 16th episode of SmackDown, Jax challenged Tiffany Stratton for the WWE Women’s Championship. The closing moments of the match saw Naomi’s music hit and the former Women’s Champion walk to the ring with a steel chair in hand. Just as it appeared that Naomi was about to attack Stratton, Jade Cargill stormed to the ring and chased Naomi into the crowd.
Stratton hit the Prettiest Moonsault Ever onto Jax, but the challenger kicked out, becoming the first WWE star to kick out of Stratton’s finisher. After slamming Stratton onto the announce table, Jax countered the powerbomb attempt into the Aniahilator, but Stratton grabbed the rope.
A frustrated Jax grabbed the chair while the referee was distracted, but Stratton kicked the chair into her face. Jax was immediately busted open as Stratton hit a second moonsault to win the match and retain the title.
Taking to social media after the match, Jax posted multiple pictures of the aftermath that saw her face bloodied and a cut above her left eye.
Nia Jax Previously lost Women’s Championship To Tiffany Stratton
This is not the first time that Stratton and Jax have faced off with the Women’s Championship at stake. At the start of the year, Stratton cashed in her Money in the Bank contract to win her first title on the main roster.
