The final WWE SmackDown before WrestleMania with the return of John Cena, a title match and more.
The special WrestleMania kicked off the weekend of action in Las Vegas. Along with many of the top stars appearing live, the show also saw the return of the Andre The Giant Battle Royal, which has become a staple of the Mania go-home SmackDown.
The main event segment saw John Cena and Cody Rhodes go face to face one final time before their WrestleMania match, which will also be Cena’s final Mania appearance.
Joe Tessitore and Wade Barrett were the announce team for the show.
The Following Results Took Place On WWE SmackDown:
- LA Knight was seen attacking Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu in the parking lot.
- Seth Rollins kicked off the show and got a great reception from the Las Vegas crowd, who are more than ready for WrestleMania. After the crowd chanted for CM Punk Rollins sat cross legged in the ring. Rollins spoke about Punk and Reigns. Rollins brought up that Punk first returned to AEW and not WWE. Noting that Punk burned the bridge and came back to WWE for another big fat cheque. Rollins spoke of the sacrifices he has made, including competing at WrestleMania 40 while his father was dying of cancer.
- Rey Fenix, Shinsuke Nakamura, Chad Gable, Ludwig Kaiser, The Miz, Andrade, Carmelo Hayes, Carlito, Pretty Deadly, Creed Brothers, R-Truth, LWO, Dragon Lee, Tyler Bate, Pete Dunne, Austin Theory, Grayson Waller, Otis, Akira Tozawa, Karrion Kross, Humberto, Angel, and Santos Escobar competed in the Andre The Giant Battle Royal. Carmelo Hayes was the winner.
- Naomi interrupted Bianca Belair and questioned her loyalty before being interrupted by Jade Cargill. Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY also got involved in the brawl with SKY ultimately standing tall.
- The Street Profits vs. Motor City Machine Guns ended in a no contest when Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano interfered. Nick Aldis announced that a TLC match would take place next week.
- Randy Orton issued an open challenge for WrestleMania 41.
- Zelina Vega defeated Chelsea Green.
- LA Knight and Braun Strowman defeated Jacob Fatu and Solo Sikoa.
- LWO defeated American Made. There are concerns for Rey Mysterio as he had to be carried to the back after the match.
- Cody Rhodes and John Cena had another exchange to close out the show. Cena blasted the fans and questioned Rhodes’ skills while Rhodes took shots at Cena being overrated and being naked at the Oscars. Rhodes dropped Cena with another Cross Rhodes to close out the show.
