The King and Queen of the Ring first round concludes and more on the June 12 WWE SmackDown.
Following multiple TV tapings and a PLE in Europe, SmackDown will mark a brief return to the United States. Three tapings are set in the US before the company travels to London and Saudi Arabia for Night of Champions week.
With 1 spot left in each of the King and Queen of the Ring semifinals, the remaining first-round matches are scheduled for the show. Jey Uso, LA Knight, Royce Keys and Finn Balor are all looking to advance, with the winner facing Je’Von Evans in the next round. In the Queen of the Ring tournament, Sol Ruca, Lyra Valkyria, Charlotte Flair and Jade Cargill will compete in their 4-way, with the winner facing Liv Morgan in the semifinals.
On the June 5 SmackDown in Italy, an irate Gunther protested his loss to Cody Rhodes at Clash in Italy. Rhodes interrupted and offered Gunther a rematch. Later in the show, Nick Aldis informed Rhodes that Gunther would face Rhodes again, but there were extra terms. Gunther will reveal those terms on the next episode of the show. While not announced, it is likely that this match will take place at Night of Champions.
