Live from Bologna, the fallout from Clash in Italy continues and more on the June 5 WWE SmackDown.
At Clash in Italy, Cody Rhodes successfully defended the WWE Championship over Gunther. However, the match ended in controversy as Gunther’s foot was under the bottom rope, which should break up the pin.
The King and Queen tournaments began on June 2. Oba Femi was the first to advance in the Men’s tournament, while IYO SKY was the first to advance in the Women’s tournament. More first-round matches are set to take place on SmackDown.

- Following a recap of Clash In Italy, an enraged Gunther protested his loss at the Premium Live Event. Cody Rodes interrupted and admitted Gunther was right. Rhodes did retort that as a veteran, Gunther should be used to the controversial loss every now and then. Rhodes offered Gunther a rematch tonight, but Sami Zayn interrupted. Zayn said that Gunther was complaining about being robbed of a title opportunity, something he can relate to. Zayn claimed he was done wrong by both men, but Gunther told him this did not concern him. A brawl ensued with Gunther evading and Rhodes hitting Zayn with a cheap shot.
- The Miz tried to stop Danhausen from conducting his science experiment, but got electrocuted!
- Raquel Rodriguez defeated Kiana James, Bayley and Jacy Jayne to advance in the Queen of the Ring tournament.
- An Angry Sami Zayn looked to take out his frustrations backstage, but Nick Aldis told him that he had other business to attend to. The camera then panned to reveal Chad Gable.
- Talla Tonga defeated Royce Keys. Solo Sikoa and Tama Tonga interfered to give Talla the advantage. A post-match attack ensued with R-Truth trying to make the save, but was also attacked. Damian Priest dragged Truth to safety.
- Truth and Priest argued backstage before Priest stormed off. The War Raiders approached Truth and said they were interested in a tag title match.
- Rhea Ripley appeared live and celebrated her title retention over Jade Cargill at Clash in Italy. Ripley referenced Charlotte Flair being her backup at Clash in Italy, which brought out The Queen. Flair spoke about winning the Queen of the Ring tournament and challenging Ripley at SummerSlam. Tiffany Stratton interrupted. Stratton told Ripley that she is looking to get her title back, then Jade Cargill interrupted. Flair made the challenge for her and Stratton to take on Cargill and one of her allies.
- Back from the break and Cargill chose Michin to take on Flair and Stratton.
- Jade Cargill and Michin defeated Tiffany Stratton and Charlotte Flair.
- Jacey Jayne was irate at her loss earlier in the night. Fatal Influence approached Paige and Brie Bella, beating up the champions.
The night before, WWE hosted a live event in Madrid, Spain.
