Veteran WWE official Charles Robinson has revealed that he was recently hospitalised after being on the receiving end of a bat bite.
The referee, 61, took to Instagram on August 13 to let the fans know that he was bitten by the animal at 2 am. Robinson added that he then went to the emergency room, was there for 4 hours and received 6 injections as a result of the bite.
Great way to start the morning. 2:00am and got bit by a bat. That’s right a bat! 4 hours later in the ER and six shots. #animalattacks #hospital
The referee posted a photo of himself lying in a hospital bed along with a video of him receiving one of the shots from the medical staff:
One of the longest-serving employees in the whole company, Robinson joined WWE back in 2001 following the WCW buyout that brought his previous employment with World Championship Wrestling to an end. Over the next 25 years, the veteran has called some of the biggest matches in company history, including Ric Flair’s final match at WrestleMania 24 and Triple H vs. Sting at WrestleMania 31.
Over the past few years, fans have regularly called for Robinson to be recognised for his contributions with an induction into the Hall of Fame.
WWE Referee Charles Robinson Bitten By Bat Following Multiple Brutal In-Ring Moments
In 2025, Robinson has gone viral multiple times for being on the receiving end of some big hits. At Night of Champions, the referee replicated his memorable WrestleMania run by sprinting down the ramp before being body checked by John Cena at the ringside area. At Saturday Night’s Main Event in July, Robinson was inadvertently hit with a spear by Goldberg as part of the Hall of Famer’s final match.
Features of Wrestling would like to wish Charles Robinson a full and speedy recovery.
