Vince McMahon has stated that he was unhappy over the way Hulk Hogan was treated at his WWE Raw appearance at the start of the year, which also ended up being his last.
The Hall of Famer made a surprise appearance at the Raw on Netflix premiere back at the start of the year, joining many big names in ushering in the new era of programming to make the first episode on the streaming platform as big as possible. However, while the segment was designed to get Hogan cheered, the former World Champion was instead booed out of the building by the LA crowd. The infamous appearance went viral with many outlets picking up the story, making the fan backlash one of the most talked-about things from the newsworthy show.
Despite the fact that there were rumours that Hogan could be set to make a follow-up appearance at a future show, such as one of the Saturday Night’s Main Event specials, the Hall of Famer was never seen in front of WWE fans again before his passing in late July.
On August 12, a new documentary aired detailing the life and career of Hogan, which also featured McMahon as one of the talking heads. Speaking with TMZ for the show, McMahon stated that he was angry with the appearance and that he would have done much more with the appearance:
“I was angry because we’ve known each other for a lifetime, professionally and personally. And setting up, so to speak, this larger than life superhero, you don’t just let him walk out there. He deserved something very, very special. More than anyone, they owe him. It’s just like, okay, here comes Hulk Hogan. I got angry because that’s not the way I would have done it and he deserved much more,” he said.

Along with the final appearance being covered, so too was the 2015 Hogan scandal that saw the former World Champion using racist language in a leaked sex tape. Addressing the scandal in the show, Vince McMahon stated that Hulk Hogan “was not racist, but said racist things.”
