The World Tag Team Championships were on the line and more on the December 8 edition of WWE Raw.
Looking to be fighting champions, AJ Styles and Dragon Lee put their titles on the line for a second consecutive week, this time against The War Raiders. Additionally, Lyra Valkyria faced Roxanne Perez, and Finn Balor was set to face Rey Mysterio, but the masked assailant made their return.
This was also the final episode of Raw before Saturday’s Night Main Event, which will be the site of John Cena’s last match.
Joe Tessitore and Wade Barrett were on commentary for the show.
WWE Raw Results December 8:
- Following a recap of The Last Time is Now Tournament, Gunther officially kicked off the show. Gunther warned Cena that he was going to break his spirit and force him to give up on Saturday. Gunther also said that beating Cena was not enough, and looked to embarrass the 17-time World Champion at the upcoming special.
- IYO SKY defeated Kairi Sane.
- Rey Mysterio was attacked by Logan Paul prior to his scheduled match with Finn Balor. Paul tried to hit Mysterio with the brass knuckles, but Mysterio avoided it. The masked man from Survivor Series made his return and delivered a stomp. Paul finally struck Mysterio, then LA Knight made the save.
- AJ Styles and Dragon Lee defeated The War Raiders to retain the World Tag Team Championships. The New Day attacked the champs after the match until The Usos made the save, who declared that they are back in the tag team division, bringing Jey Uso’s singles run to an end for now.
- Stephanie Vaquer spoke about her future, and listed off a number of challengers. Nikki Bella interrupted and wanted a rematch, but Bella was attacked by Raquel Rodriguez.
- Roxanne Perez defeated Lyra Valkyria.
- Logan Paul defeated LA Knight, with the masked man making another appearance.
- Bron Breakker appeared live and promised to take CM Punk’s title and his wife from him on the January 6 Raw. The show’s closing angle saw LA Knight attacked by Bronson Reed and Logan Paul, ending with Knight receiving a Tsunami on a car.
