AEW and ROH President Tony Khan has commented on the possibility of having an all-women’s pay-per-view take place in one of the promotions.
Although the booking of AEW’s women’s division has come under fire over the past few years, 2025 has seen more opportunities created with the introduction of Women’s Tag Team Championships, which will see the inaugural holders crowned at Winter is Coming, and the ROH Women’s Pure Championship, which is held by Deonna Purrazzo. Additionally, a women’s Blood and Guts match was held for the first time ever earlier in the year, and was well received by the fanbase.
Tony Khan Addresses All-Women’s PPV
Speaking to the media following ROH Final Battle, Khan was asked if he had considered an all-women’s event, similar to WWE Evolution. While Khan did not categorically state whether it would be on PPV, he did note that it is something that he has thought about:
“I think certainly having more events that include more and more women’s championships and matches has been fantastic. I think the depth of the women’s wrestling in AEW and ROH has just continued to get better and better. Absolutely. Whatever platform or however it were to happen, there’s a lot of ways it could happen.
“Global Wars technically is a streaming special. We don’t call it a pay-per-view, but really it all is on the same app, and you’re paying for the whole thing the same Definitely an event, an all-women’s event with women from all over is something I have thought about and again, potentially a Global Wars, bringing women from all over could be great too.”
ROH Final Battle saw Athena retain the Women’s Championship to extend her record-breaking reign, along with Red Velvet picking up a win over Mercedes Mone to win the ROH Women’s TV Championship.
AEW will next be on pay-per-view on December 27 with Worlds End, which will see the winner of the 2025 Continental Classic crowned.
